Skin Aftercare |
Use an anti-bacterial soap in the shower to clean off any build up that may be on the jewelry.
Gently use a q-tip to apply the anti-bacterial soap. Make sure that you dilute the anti-bacterial soap with water and rinse all soap off thoroughly.
Use Dr. Piercing's Aftercare once a day to clean around your piercing. It is the only recommended product you can use to clean your piercing. It is a FDA registered antiseptic and anesthetic specifically for the care of body piercings. Dr. Piercing's Aftercare is in the form of q-tip type swabs that contain a saline solution in the stick. One end of the q-tip has a stripe on it. This end is what you break off to release the fluid. Aim the q-tip at your piercing once you break the end off, as the fluid starts to drip out as soon as you break it. Use this end to clean around the skin surrounding the piercing. Make sure that you do not rinse off the solution. You want the solution to soak into the skin.
Do not touch your piercing or jewelry! This is the most important part of the healing process. Germs and bacteria on your hands are the most common way of infecting your piercing. Only touch your piercing after washing your hands with warm water and anti-bacterial soap.
