Expect swelling of the tongue for 3-7 days. Everyone swells differently. Some people experience no swelling at all whereas others will swell rapidly.
Use Listerine every 2 hours for the first 2 weeks. Rinse after eating, drinking, or any other time something has come into contact with the area around the piercing.
Use Listerine twice daily for the life of the piercing. It is simply good hygiene to continue rinsing after the piercing is healed, considering that irritation may occur depending on illness, change in environment, or other outside influences.
